Da Vinci sketched a parachute in 1485 which was then created around 300 years later in the 18th century. This invention has saved thousands of people's lives who would have died if it was never created.

Da Vinci was also one of the first people to sketch a helicopter which he sketched in around the 1480s even though the first helicopter was not built until the 1940s. The version he sketched is very similar to the ones that are flying nowadays.
