Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was more commonly known as Leonardo da Vinci.

Born in the town called Vinci on the 15th of April 1452 which is now known as Tuscany, Florence in Italy.

His family settled in Florence in mid 1460s,which was where he got the best education in all of Florence where he rapidly advanced socially and intellectually.

In 1466, he became an apprentice to a master of a workshop called Andrea del Verrocchio.

Leonardo da Vinci is best known as a painter after his works that include the Mona Lisa, the Vitruvian Man and the Last Supper.
